Santa Fe Crisp
The colors of Sante Fe are intense despite the constant flood of bright sunlight. There is little haze there in the dry air. I loved the red of the adobe tiles that roofed this theater against the blue and white of the sky.
About an hour after this shot taken, the lovely white cumulus spread and darkened the sky, dumping hard rain in a downpour so loud and intense that conversation had to be shouted to be heard. I’d set out on foot that morning with only my camera – and no jacket or bag to protect it. A kind shop keeper offered me a plastic bag to tie around my Nikon, and I learned that flash flooding does indeed happen in a flash.
